The contractor managed to find a couple of pretty decent framers. They
got started sometime on Tuesday, and have been working pretty steadily
since. The weather has been cooperating, and although it doesn't look
like it they've actually made a lot of progress. The garage roof has been
sheathed, and they've started on the foyer.
I'm not real happy with the
way they added the rafters over the foyer, though. They angle cut them and
placed them on top of the shingles and sheathing that was already there.
Seems to me there's not much to tie them into the existing structure.
